It’s common to see some platters of food and grease inside the microwave after heating a dish. The remains of food favor the proliferation of bacteria and also damage your appliance. Therefore, it is important to keep your microwave clean to prevent your food from being contaminated by residues.

If you’re looking to clean your microwave without any chemicals, this is the best solution for you!

Time: 15min

Tools you need to prepare:

  1. A glass bowl or other microwave-safe containers ;

  2. A lemon;

  3. A tablespoon of white vinegar;

  4. Some hot tap water.

Reasons for This:

  • Lemon has acidic substances that are antibacterial and can remove many microorganisms, and disinfect everything.
  • Vinegar has a high concentration of acetic acid, which acts as a degreaser and disinfectant and also lends a shine to your appliance.

Now Follow 3 Simple Steps:

Step 1:

Fill a glass bowl with some hot tap water and add 1 tablespoon of white vinegar.

Cut a lemon into wedges and put them in warm water. You can also squeeze the wedges before putting them in the water to add some grease-cutting power to the water.

Step 2:

Put the bowl in the microwave and switch to high heat.

Set the time for 5 minutes and wait for the water to boil.

When your microwave beeps, do not open the door for at least 10 minutes. After that, you will notice that all the dirt inside has softened.

Step 3:

Take out the bowl, and you may use the water to wipe down other kitchen surfaces.

Wipe down the interior of your microwave with a damp cloth or sponge.

Stand back and admire your shiny and clean microwave!
